This will be a presentation of the Cycling Canada NCCP Community Coach workshop.  Discussions will focus on core competencies required by Parents, Volunteers, and Assistants to support cyclists in practice sessions for skill development.  The workshop is also open to those working with cyclists in roles as Team Manager or Driver, and to teachers, personal trainers, and others working with cyclists.

Topics to be included:
  • Practice planning and organisation
  • Coaching ethics
  • Safety and risk management
  • Teaching and learning
  • Basics of nutrition
The workshop modules will be presented via approximately 2hrs of home study, plus 6 hours of in-class:
  • Mon 3 Dec - home study material provided
  • Sun 9 Dec - 0900-1600h
Participants have to submit the home-study tasks, and attend all in-class parts to complete the workshop.  In-class sessions will take place in Vancouver.  Partial attendance may be recorded and combined with future training.  Registrants will be provided reference materials.  These workshops are one of the five parts needed for full training in the cycling NCCP.

Note: A minimum of 8 participants is required to run this course.  You must be a member of Cycling BC prior to registering for this course.
